this one is for aller!

Okay, so we all know I'm no good at updating this whatsoever. As Ally has graciously pointed out my lack of ability, I figured I'd update it today.

So let me run you through a basic day for me.
I am usually awoken by Xander, because he runs into my room, yells Hey Hey!! Wake Up!!
This is usually followed by him saying that hes cold so he can get under the blankets with me. Once he is all snug as a bug, he asked me for my iPod, which he is no obsessed with. We usually hang out in bed for 10 minutes, then everyone gets ready for the day. Once 945am hits, our driver Vladamir (sp?) is waiting for us outside to take us to the Baby House. We get there around 10am-ish. Jenn and Tony head up to get Giovanna all ready for the day, change her, feed her, that kind of stuff. While they are doing that, Xander and I are taking over the massive playground that the Baby House has. His favorites consist of the giant slide and the boat, which we aptly named the Pirate Ship. Soon, I'll be calling it the Black Pearl. My favorite is the Jungle Gym which I now call the ChillZone, and Xande calls it the ChillOn. Seeing as this playground is semi-old, Xander finds his way to the termite infested wooden toys, which are basically broken. Im pretty sure he does this because it adds an element of danger for him, hes such a dare devil! Xander and I play for a little while, then Jenn and Tony take Giovanna outside to hang with her big brother, who she just adores! She gets upset when she can't see him playing, its soooo cute! They hang with us for a while, then they go back in around 1130-1140am and Xander and I stay outside until Vladamir comes and gets us. We head back to the apartment, have lunch, do whatever, then Jenn and Tony head back for the second session. This is when I put Xander down for a nap. I just hang out, or do laundry, or clean up or whatever, sometimes Ill even take a nap, its sweet. Then Jenn and Tony get home around 415-430pm. This is usually followed by dinner and hanging out, then Jenn and Tony get to work. They usually finish up around 10-1030ish then its nightnight time!
Thats basically the gist of my day!

first post from KAZ!!!

Okay, so this is my first post from Kazakhstan!

It's been super hard trying to access the internet, you wouldn't believe how hard!

Anyways, I've been here for 5 days. Kaz is quite the place. Certainly different from the US. It really makes you appreciate what you have back at home, thats for sure!

I'm having a great time though! I chill with Hubba, aka Xander and Sue for the time that Jenn and Tony are at the Baby House. I went there today and Giovanna is the cutest little girl! oooh man, she has brown hair and the craziest gray-blue eyes! gorgeous! Mamas lock up your sons, Giovanna is heading back to the US and she's a man-eater!

Welp, thats all I have for now, but I'll try and update as much as I can as soon as I can!

First Legal Drink!

Because it's so darn special, I figured this would warrant its own post. Tonight at dinner, I had my first legal drink of alcohol! Drink of choice you ask? Port Wine, delicious! Tony and Jenn have been awaiting the time that I order my first alcoholic drink, but I was just not too worried about it. I order water with just about everything, and when it came time for dessert, everyone had ordered Port. I said I would just have a water, but my super cool badass cousin Tony insisted that I drink with them, so I did. And to be honest, if felt pretty freakin' cool drinking in a restaurant without getting into trouble, or even without having to flash my ID! weiiird for US standards, but here the drinking age is 16 and kids under 16 can order booze as long as their parents say it's okay. Basically, Amsterdam is more badass than the US will ever be. True story.

Last Day In Utaaaaaaah (for a couple months)

So today is the last full day we have at home before we go on this Kaz Adventure! GAAAH!! Jenn and I didn't go to work today because we had some shopping to get done before the big trip. I just basically have to throw all my jizzunk in a suitcase and then I'll be ready to go. Of course, Jenn, Xander and Tony are already packed, but I like to leave stuff until the last minute to make sure I don't forget anything. I just have skills that way. I'm currently buying some sweet videos off of iTunes for Xander's enjoyment for the plane because a 3 year old and long airplane rides don't mix to well haha. I'm also playing around with the new iLife '09 I got. It's basically the sweetest thing ever! Feel free to check it out if you have no clue what it is. It's legit awesome.

So tomorrow we will leave the house around 7am because our flight is a 1040am. It'll be like last time in Utah for about 2 months! Crazy huh? It's so weird because my original departure date from my Utah fam was the 21st of August so I could go back for fall semester, but heey, I think this is just a weeee bit more exciting! Now I'm leaving January 5th! Pretty awesome man.

Welp, thats about all for now, but as ever, I'll keep yah posted!

Details About The Upcoming Weeks

So almost all of my friends know that I won't be returning to the Dirty Burg for the fall semester. Ill be doing something just a wee bit more exciting. AKA traveling to Kazakhstan with my bff - Jenn, my fav cousin - Tony, my aunt - Sue, and my coot coot baby nugget cousin - Xander. I know what you're thinking, ooh she's just going because its the land of Borat. WRONG! Tony and Jenn are actually adopting a little baby girl!!! gaaah soo excited for them! It's going to be amazing!

So our first flight is on this coming Wednesday at 10:40am I believe. From Salt Lake City, we fly to Minneapolis. We have a couple hour layover there, and from there we head off to Amsterdam for three whole days!! Then we fly from Amsterdam to Almaty which is the capital of Kazakhstan? eeeh, im not too sure so don't hold me on that one. We chill there for a while and catch another flight to Karaganda, which is where the orphanage is located. We will spend a couple weeks in Karaganda; Jenn and Tony will be going to the orphanage daily to bond with the nugget, and Sue and I will be watching the little hell-raiser, Xander! We then have to leave the country for the "appeal" process. This time will be spent in Italy (IT-LEYY) visiting Tony's extended Italian family. I meet these guys at Tony's and Alaina's weddings and they are the nicest people ever! I'm so stinkin' excited!! Once the appeal process is up, Sue, Xander and I will head back to Amsterdam for a couple days while Jenn and Tony go back to Kazakhstan to get the little baby nugget whose name is Giovanna (not sure if I spelt that correctly). Basically its going to be awesome awesome awesome!!

That's basically the outline of the upcoming weeks of my life! Crazy exciting!

Starting Up Again

Well basically I've have this blog since the beginning of college due to Ally's persistence in begging me to do so, so she could see what I was up to at the better FSC. Buttttttt, I havent really kept up with it and now that my bff is starting one for when we go off to Kazakhstan, I decieded it'd be a good idea to start again! Even if nobody reads it, expect for Aller, at least it'll make her happy! haha

History

Im in history right now, and my teacher was talking about rum in the caribbean and the trade with the english and all that crap, and he goes..."why is all the rum gone?!" and just giggles to himself. It was a good day for US history haha

first blog evaaaaaaahh!!!

Welp, welcome to the crazy blog of me, myself and I, Alexa Ryan, aka oompa, oomps, lexxer, lex, lexipaws, foobie, shithead, the list goes on. So I got bored and thought it would be pretty cool to make a blog, seeing as my bud Ally has one as well, and it surely keeps me entertained during classes. I'll get more into detail with my awesome life in future posts, but right now I'm just givin' you a little preview of whats to come! 

Might as well start off with describing my day...

I woke up at 8:29am thinking it was 3:29pm, which worried me greatly because I had class at 3:30pm. I soon went back to bed and woke up at around 1pm. I know, im a huge shithead. I had some nice brunch, aka a red bull and a poptart. I cleaned my desk for about an hour, did some math homework, got ready and went to Math at 315. During that class, I harassed Ally to update her blog, which she did ever so kindly! I got out of class at 4:20, yes for all you stoners out there, 4:20. Did more homework once I was safely back in my room. I then went to DAKA which is our dining hall and got some not so good grub. Came back, did MORE homework and then went to commuter cafe to get a drink haha. There I talked to some wicked high people about kangaroo fighting. Weird, but halarious. I got back to my room AGAIN and fucked around on facebook, and then decided to make one of these crazy blogs and here I am!
